Dubai world’s first government to go 100% paperless: Crown Prince

To maintain greenery in the world and minimize the use of paper, the governments of many countries are giving importance to paperless digital work. In this connection, Dubai has become the first such government in the world, which is not going to use paper at all in government work (World’s first paperless government). The functioning of all 45 government offices in Dubai has now become completely digital (Dubai Saving Money by not using Papers).

Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has announced that government offices will be paperless. He has told that this will save millions of dollars and physical labor will also be saved. The Crown Prince said that the government is working to make digital life in Dubai more convenient within the next 50 years.

The economic benefit with environmental protection

According to media reports, due to paperless governance, 336 million paper sheets will be reported every year and due to this, the Dubai government will be able to save about USD 350 million i.e. about 2700 crores in Indian currency every year due to this initiative. Apart from this, about 14 lakh labor hours will also be cut by this decision. The beginning of making government work paperless in Dubai started in 2018 itself, which has now achieved its goal. Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum says a new era is beginning to digitize people’s lives. It will be a completely different and new life.

Paper transactions will end

According to Crown Prince, full digitization will further enhance the smart city experience for all residents and eliminate the need for paper transactions. Countries like America, Britain, and Canada are moving towards digitization, but due to the possibility of cyber-attacks, this task is proving difficult for them. However, more than 1800 digital services are being provided in all 45 government departments of Dubai and more than 10,500 transactions are being done.
