Ola Electric has shipped all units of its S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters to customers. Ola CEO and co-founder Bhavish Agarwal said all the S1 and S1 Pro e-scooters scheduled for delivery in December have been delivered, Hindustan Times Auto reports.
He added that there may be some delay as the RTO registration process takes time. To share the update, Agarwal wrote on Twitter today, “We have sent vehicles to everyone who has purchased. Some are in transit, most go through the RTO registration process at your nearest delivery center. The registration process took longer than expected as the complete digital process is new to everyone. ”
“But thank you to all the RTOs who work with us during the holidays to enhance this new digital process. We are learning about various RTO systems and regulations across the states. Registration will be expedited in the future,” Agarwal assured. He added that the next purchase window for Ola S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters will be launched soon.
Ola Electric S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters started delivery on December 15, 2021, after several delays. Deliveries began on August 15, about four months after the introduction of electric scooters. The company aims to cover Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, and Visakhapatnam by the end of this month.
Ola Electric has begun installing hyper charger networks for its EV scooters with EV charging infrastructure. The company plans to set up 4,000 such charging points for electric scooters across India by the end of next year.
In October, Ola Electric announced the launch of their first hypercharge. The company had earlier announced that it would set up charging support for customers under the ‘Hypercharger’ feature, which will be installed at over 100,000 locations/touchpoints in 400 Indian cities. Ola Electric’s hypercharge can charge e-scooter batteries from 0 to 50% in just 18 minutes, making it suitable for a half-cycle range of up to 75 km. However, a home-charger unit will also be standard when purchasing each unit. Ola Hypercharger offers users a seamless charging experience. All owners have to do is plug in an electric scooter to a point on the hypercharge network for charging. One can monitor the status in real-time using an electric app, which also enables payment for the service. The company also reportedly has a city-wise plan to charge the company’s website network locations.
Ola electric scooters come in two variants, S1 and S1 Pro. If the S1 is priced at Rs 1 lakh, the second will get Rs 1.30 lakh (before the ex-showroom and state subsidies). While the S1 variant claims to travel 121km, the company claims that the more expensive S1 Pro will get a range of 180km before recharging.
