Priyanka, watching The Matrix in 1999 at the age of 16, recalled how it raised her hopes for cinema.

Seth, 47, joked that he was ‘stoned a little too much when he saw it and remembered thinking, ‘I think it might be real’.
Recalling the Y2K scare around that time, Priyanka said, “When the film came out, it was the turn of the century.”

“And everyone was like, “Technology was kind of scary, it’s gonna take over the world,” Priyanka said, “and The Matrix comes and tells you you’ll be living in one, so it was terrifying,’ Priyanka said.
Seth joked that your aunt posting stuff on Facebook was The Matrix.
‘Especially when you’re chatting with your friend and then they log in to Instagram and ads pop up. And you’re like, uh, “Did you just recommend the same toothbrush I recommended to my friend five minutes ago?” Priyanka said.

“It’s crazy,” agreed Seth, who said that his wife, Alexei Ashe, talks constantly about how she gets targeted ads.
Priyanka said, ‘I am completely, completely mad.
Priyanka said that when she first saw The Matrix she talked about ‘existential principles’ and Seth asked if the film had the same kind of ‘verbal, thoughtful dialogue’.
‘Yeah, and I have a lot of words, and matrix words. I don’t want Lana to kick me out, but now that I’m in the film, she can’t kick me out,’ Priyanka said, referring to the 56-year-old director Lana Wachowski.
