Sikkim CM attends Mangal Smriti Diwas in Kalimpong

Chief Minister of Sikkim Prem Singh Tamang together with CM Madam Krishna Rai attended the Mangal Smriti Diwas today at Mangal Dham, in Kalimpong, West Bengal in the presence of saints, litterateurs and devotees from different parts of the country, including Sikkim. The Mangal Smriti Diwas marks the 37th death anniversary of Shree 108 Mangaldas Maharaj.

Chief Minister Tamang has conveyed his heartfelt devotion to Pujya Guruji Shri Mangal Das Ji on behalf of the Sikkimese people.

At the age of forty, Guruji came to Kalimpong and established a grand temple. Thereafter, a High School, Ashram, etc. were built. Revered Guruji was a great preacher of Dharma. He preached to his followers of living a purely vegetarian and simple life. Due to his preachings, thousands of people in Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Siliguri, Assam, Sikkim, and Bhutan became Guruji’s followers.
