UIDAI Aadhaar Rule: Know how many times you can change your name, address, and date of birth in Aadhaar

As per the guidelines issued by UIDAI, a user can change his name only twice on Aadhaar. According to the notification issued by UIDAI in this regard, if you want to change the name in your Aadhaar, then you will get a chance to make this change only twice. After this, you will not be able to make any changes regarding your name on the Aadhar card.

At the same time, the date of birth is the only information that never changes. Users cannot change the date of birth in the Aadhar card like their name. In case of any mistake during data entry, the situation of updating the date of birth on Aadhaar can definitely arise. Hence, you can update your date of birth on your Aadhar card only once.

Aadhar cardholders can also update the address entered on their card. But, this information can also be updated only once. At the same time, cardholders can also update their gender-related information only once. For a change of name, you need identity proof documents like a voter id card, passport, driving license.

Whereas, in case of updating the address, address documents like bank statement or passbook, ration card, the water bill will be required. No document is required in case of gender change. If a user wants to change the date of birth, then they can submit their birth certificate, passport, or mark sheet of any university to the authorities.
