Uttarakhand: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami distributed free phones and tablets to 2.75 lakh students of the state

The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) informed on Saturday that on the occasion of New Year 2022, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami distributed free mobile phones and tablets to 2.75 lakh students of the state. The Chief Minister participated in the ‘Jan Samvad’ program organized by the Education Department in Dehradun.

According to the CMO’s release, Dhami directed the magistrates of all the districts of the state to invite the MLAs of the area for the programme. This was announced at a public meeting held on December 20, 2021.

According to government data, about 2 lakh 65 thousand students of class 10 and 12 of degree colleges and state schools will benefit from this scheme. A state government official said that students of class 10 and 12 of government schools in the state were given Rs 12,000 from DBT to buy mobile tablets.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami distributed free tablets to 100 girl students of Government Girls Inter College, Rajpur Road, Dehradun.

On Saturday, this program was organized in all the 70 Legislative Assemblies of the state. The Chief Minister also announced that an auditorium would be built at Government Girls Inter College, Rajpur Road.
